Funeral Arrangement Assistance (BMJ)

The Foundation has allocated Veteran Funeral Arrangement Assistance (BMJ) for non-pensionable veterans , their spouses and children who are eligible.

Applicant / beneficiary may submit their claim at MAF Veteran Foundation Office, Department of Veterans Affairs . The claim must be made in the year of death.

The amount of assistance is as follows:

  • Death of Veteran RM3,000.
  • Couples 1,500 deaths.
  • Child Mortality RM1,500 (under 18 / under 21 years of age is still learning / children with disabilities).

Required documents:

  • Application form.
  • Statutory Declaration.
  • A copy of the death certificate / burial permit.
  • A copy of the marriage certificate (proof of relationship between deceased and spouse) or a copy of birth certificate (proof of relationship between deceased - children).
  • Copy of retirees / service books / cards of former military / ATM service confirmation as a member of the Directorate of Records and Pensions, Ministry of Defence.
  • Copy the disabled from the Social Welfare Department (for children with disabilities).
  • A copy of the applicant's bank account (ASB accounts are not accepted).

(Note: All documents must be certified. Applications that are incomplete will interfere with the application process and may result in the delay of payment).

IMPORTANT

Beginning in 2014, the BMJ assistance were paid through Fund Transfer (FT) or Inter-bank Giro (IBG). Applicants can check their application status by contacting this number 03-2050 8192 or DVA Branch.
