History and Function of Establishment
The Department of Veteran Affairs ATM, or JHEV, was established on October 11, 2000. It is placed under the administration of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia. JHEV officially commenced operations on January 1, 2001, located at Medan Tuanku, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur.
The main objective of this department is to assist retired members of the Malaysian Armed Forces in improving their socioeconomic status after completing their service in the Armed Forces.
Formulating policies to protect the interests of veterans while enhancing the socioeconomic status and welfare of ATM Veterans.
Planning and implementing JHEV’s Welfare and Education Assistance Scheme.
Monitoring the implementation of courses/training, Pre-Transition Training, Transition Training, and Post-Transition Training conducted by PERHEBAT.
Assisting ATM Veterans in obtaining second jobs in the public and private sectors.
Helping to secure second job opportunities in the public and private sectors.
Assisting in obtaining opportunities and facilities in the field of entrepreneurship and coordinating assistance services from relevant departments and government agencies.
Managing and monitoring retirement benefits and medical reimbursement claims for ATM Veterans.
Fostering and maintaining public awareness of the contributions and sacrifices of ATM Veterans.
