Are You Eligible?
- Spouse, children, an agency, or an individual responsible for managing the funeral of a pensioned Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Veteran.
- Deaths before October 15, 2010, are not eligible for this benefit.
- Only one claim per Veteran is allowed, even if the deceased had retired from multiple services.
- Claims must be submitted within one (1) year from the date of death. Late claims will not be processed.
About the Assistance
This financial assistance is provided to the heirs of a pensioned ATM Veteran who passes away during retirement.
Assistance Amount
A one-time payment of RM3,000 will be given to the closest relative handling the funeral, based on the following situations:
Situation | Payment Recipient |

Widowed Veteran ATM | Widower. |
Veteran ATM with one widow | Widow. |
Veteran ATM with multiple widows | Widow covering funeral expenses (must submit a statutory declaration) |
Veteran ATM without a widow but with children | Child aged 18 years or older (If there is more than one child, all must agree and authorize one person through a statutory declaration. Children under 18 will receive the payment through a guardian.) |
Single Veteran ATM | Parent (mother or father) |
Veteran ATM without a widow, children, or parents | Individual or agency managing the funeral (must submit a statutory declaration) |
Payment Method
The BMJ assistance payment can be made via:
- Cheque (hand-delivered) or Bank transfer to the applicant's account (upon request)
How to Apply?
- Download and complete the following form:
Application Form for Funeral Management Assistance (For Pensioned Veterans Only) - Attach the following documents:
- Copy of the Death Certificate / Burial Permit
- Copy of Veteran’s Card (KBT) / Service Record Book (BAT D 86 / 92) – all pages
- Copy of Applicant’s Identity Card
- Copy of Marriage Certificate (to prove spouse relationship) or Birth Certificate (to prove child relationship)
- Copy of Applicant’s Bank Account Details (for direct bank transfer)
- Statutory Declaration Form (attached with the application form)
Note: Copies of documents must be certified by one of the following: Kadi, Imam, Village Head (Penghulu), Subdistrict Chief (Penggawa), Police Station Chief, School Headmaster, District Officer, Government Officer (Management and Professional Group), Head of any Government Office, Commissioner of Oaths, or Indigenous Chief (Ketua Anak Negeri).
- Submit the completed forms and documents to the JHEV Headquarters or the JHEV State Branch Office.
